Apple Announces OS X Mountain Lion With New Features (Video)

Apple Announces OS X Mountain Lion With New Features (Video)

Today, Apple announced a new version of OS X called Mountain Lion, which is now 10.8. They plan to release it this summer along with a possibility of a refreshed line-up consisting of Macbook Pro, iMac, and Mac Pro. So if you have an iPhone or an iPad, you would notice the similar things that will appear on Mountain Lion. Apple finally added few things to Mountain Lion, giving it an interface similar to the iPhone.

Here is our new OS X Mountain Lion default desktop:

If you use iMessage on your iPhone or iPad, you would probably know what to do with this. iMessages on Mac allows you to chat unlimited with your friends or families, no matter what platform they are on: iPad, iPhone, or Mac. It won’t charge you a dime for sending and receiving a message. Here is what Messages will look like for Mountain Lion:

A new feature that is being implemented is called Notification Center. Just a simple swipe to the left will reveal a sidebar coming out of the desktop, on the right to reveal a Notification Center. It looks like the one that is currently on iPhone and iPad.  It will show you all notifications from your e-mail, calendar, messages, and even support third-party software.

With that being said, there are lot of new features that we have not covered. We are also very excited to get our hands on this when it comes out this summer. Here is the video and we are sorry if there are no closed captioning available.
